Amazon MGM Studios plans to digitally remove Timothy Busfield from an upcoming film after he was charged with child sexual abuse.

Busfield features in the ensemble cast of *You Deserve Each Other*, a new romantic comedy that follows a couple who get cold feet on their way to the altar. Based on the novel by Sarah Hogle, *You Deserve Each Other *stars Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy, and features an extensive supporting cast featuring Hope Davis, Justin Long, Kyle MacLachlan, and Ana Gasteyer.

The *Thirtysomething *actor* *had already completed his scenes as Bernie, the father of Fahy's Naomi, but now Amazon plans to digitally edit Busfield out of the film, per Deadline Hollywood. This comes in the wake of Busfield facing two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse, according to a New Mexico warrant obtained and reviewed by * *earlier this month.

The charges against Busfield stem from allegations of inappropriate contact with twin boys whom he worked with on the Fox series *The Cleaning Lady*. Busfield was an executive producer on the series, as well as appearing in a single episode. The boys' mother claimed her sons were "groomed" on the series' set between 2022 and 2024, according to the warrant. A doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital first requested an investigation into the matter in Nov. 2024.

Busfield surrendered to New Mexico authorities four days after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He has yet to enter a formal plea, but maintains his innocence as he prepares for a pre-trial detention hearing on Tuesday.**

An episode *Law & Order: SVU *set to feature Busfield was bumped from its planned airdate of Jan. 12, with the following week's episode taking its place. He was then accused of sexual abuse by another minor.
