The new mom is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin, Princess Alexandra

The British royal family has a new addition after Flora Vesterberg welcomed a baby daughter last week.

Flora — who is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth’s first cousin, Princess Alexandra — announced in an Instagram post that her baby girl had “arrived safely” on the morning of Wednesday, July 8.

This is Flora’s first child with her Swedish financier husband, Timothy Vesterberg.

The 31-year-old art historian confirmed the news by sharing a picture of the adorable newborn sleeping in a crib, while wearing a cute white dress and a matching bonnet.

“Our daughter Isabel Marina Vesterberg arrived safely on the morning of 8 July. Timothy and I are overjoyed and full of love for her,” Flora captioned the image.

“She’s named for the blessing that she is as well as my paternal great-grandmother,” she explained. “Her name also means ‘of the sea’ where we always feel most at peace in Scotland and Sweden. Thank you for your thoughtful messages xx.”

Isabel is the first great-grandchild of Princess Alexandra, 89, and the child is poised to enter the line of succession to the British throne.

Flora follows her father, James, and brother, Alexander Ogilvy, in the line of succession and is currently 61st in line, with Isabel expected to enter the order of succession at 62nd.

Many of Flora’s followers congratulated the new mom on her baby news, with one commenting: “Beautiful time of life. Enjoy!”

Another said: “Fantastic news - what a gift! 💝 Congratulations to you all, Flora and Timothy! 🥰🫶,” while a third added: “Congratulations to you both! She is absolutely gorgeous. I hope you are doing well 🤍🤍🤍.”

Flora first announced that she and her husband, Timothy, were expecting a baby in a post on Instagram on Jan. 19.

“Delighted to share that Timothy and I are expecting our first child. We’re truly over the moon,” Flora captioned the post.

“Photograph by my father @ogilvylandscape xx,” she continued, tagging her father, James Ogilvy.

The image showed the couple standing among greenery, as Flora placed her hand on her bump.

Flora and Timothy married in a small, private ceremony in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic, before they then threw a bigger celebration the following year.

Family and friends gathered to attend the 2021 church blessing of the marriage at St. James’s Palace in London. Flora’s grandmother, Princess Alexandra, who was a bridesmaid at the Queen’s wedding to Prince Philip in 1947, sported a polka dot dress under a blazer with a matching hat for the occasion.
