Katy Perry's crowd-surfing stunt took a frightening turn when she became trapped inside an oversized plastic bottle, at the mercy of fans.

The pop star entered an inflatable bottle and stood inside it during Wednesday's headlining performance at Isle of MTV Malta. The bottle was moved by fans in the crowd, with Perry inside of it. What started off like a cool stunt quickly progressed into panic when fans failed to push the star toward the oversized straw positioned near the stage, the way she and concert organizers intended.

Fan-captured video shows Perry pleading for help from inside the bottle while fans rolled her around aimlessly.

Perry started by belting out the lyrics to "I Kissed a Girl" from inside the prop while it passed through the crowd. Before long she was shouting instructions to fans in a desperate attempt to be shifted in the right direction.

"Get me to that straw," Perry yelled, while pointing in the intended direction.

Fans seemed thrilled with the experience and continued to drift the bottle all around the audience, much to Perry's dismay.

Video clips shared widely on social media show Perry being tossed around inside the prop, desperately attempting to keep her bearings amid the seemingly nauseating and never-ending experience.

"Come on, keep it going!" Perry shouted, according to Page Six.

"Go back to the stage! Oh my God!"

Perry pleaded, "Get me to that straw." She was eventually rolled to the right spot.

She eventually made her way back to the stage and completed her set, after pausing briefly to address the crowd.

"Thank you for getting me back," she told fans.
