Jennifer Lopez may say she’s moved on from Ben Affleck, but insiders claim the full story is more nuanced. A new report suggests the actress/singer has grown close to the Gone Girl star again following their divorce, though only as friends.

Even so, sources allege Lopez still appears more emotionally attached than she publicly admits. While there is reportedly no romance between them anymore, those close to the pair believe their bond remains stronger than her public comments suggest.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have found a new rhythm after ending their marriage. This time, insiders claim, their relationship is built on friendship, trust and mutual respect. However, one source alleges Lopez’s feelings may still run deeper than she lets on (via Closer Online).

The insider claimed Lopez is “over the moon” that she and Affleck have reached a positive place after the divorce. Rather than focusing on what went wrong, she is reportedly embracing the friendship they have managed to rebuild.

As part of that friendship, Lopez allegedly continues to rely on Affleck. According to the source, she regularly seeks his advice and values his perspective on important decisions. The insider claimed she trusts him because his opinions are honest and not influenced by professional obligations.

At the same time, the source alleged the “Jenny from the Block” hitmaker enjoys knowing Affleck is only a phone call away. He apparently “almost always picks up and is happy to hear from her” whenever she reaches out. Still, the insider claimed Lopez is careful not to contact him too often because she does not want to “push him away.”

The report also suggests this friendship means more to Lopez than many realize. According to the insider, she has always admired the respectful relationship Affleck shares with his former wife, Jennifer Garner. Now, the source claimed, she feels she has found a similar place with him.

That said, the insider believes there is still a disconnect between what Lopez says and how she feels. She often tells people she and Affleck are “better off as just friends” and that she has moved on romantically.
