Reports of outages for Apple Music on the service tracking website Downdetector spiked late Jan. 20, suggesting the music streaming service may be experiencing a disruption.
The website reports that, as of just after 8 p.m. ET, over 1,000 reports of outages have been made – a large spike from its reported baseline of two reports.
Downdetector's outage tracking map shows the reports are concentrated around New York City, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Chicago and Seattle.

What caused the Verizon outage? What we know so far
Apple's system status page does not show that Apple Music is experiencing an outage, but it shows outages for the App Store, Apple TV, iTunes and Maps traffic.
USA TODAY has reached out to Apple for comment on the issue.
The outage comes on the heels of the massive Verizon outage that struck in a similar swath of the country.
This is a developing story.
