Watch out: the Punisher is back on the prowl.
In case you haven't noticed, Jon Bernthal's vigilante anti-hero Frank Castle is having a busy year. After making his grand return to Marvel TV with 2025's Daredevil: Born Again season 1, the gun-touting angel of vengeance will be back on screen two times in the next few months.
Anyone paying attention already knows that Bernthal's Punisher will make his big screen debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, bantering (PG-13-style) with Tom Holland's Peter Parker.
But before the blockbuster hits theaters, the Punisher will first headline his own special, set to debut on Disney+ in May.
In a teaser for season 2 of Born Again, Marvel has given fans their first look at the Punisher's latest misadventure.
The trailer begins by showcasing the hell reigning down in Daredevil's life before dedicating its last few seconds to a brief glimpse at The Punisher: One Last Kill. Frank sports his classic Punisher costume, skull insignia and all, as he sheathes a knife. Then he gives the camera a sneer as he whips out a gun.
Back in February, Entertainment Weekly exclusively revealed the upcoming Punisher special, described as being in the vein of Marvel's prior stand-alone projects, Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

"It's like a shotgun blast of a story, but also has all the pathos and emotion that you want out of a Frank Castle story," Brad Winderbaum, the head of Marvel Television, teased to EW. "It's so exciting."

The character, as played by Bernthal, first arrived in Netflix's Daredevil before getting his own spinoff show on the steamer, which ran for two seasons from 2017-2019.

This time around, Bernthal has penned the script with his We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green, who will also helm the special. Hinting at the violent next chapter of Frank's story, Bernthal previously told EW, "The story that we've laid out is, I think, really special. It's the visceral, psychologically complex, unforgiving, no-holds-barred version of Frank where he's going to turn his back to the audience."
He continued, "Nothing is easy and all violence has a cost, and we're going to see that cost. I'm grateful that they're letting me go to the places that I really want to go."
On the bright side, maybe things will be a little more lighthearted for Frank when he hangs out with Spidey... not that Peter Parker isn't used to a little darkness.
