Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje says Euphoria fans have even sent him marriage proposals following his season 3 debut
The actor, who plays Alamo, tells PEOPLE that he's even gotten some "marriage proposals"
"If you like that type of guy, then that's your thing, but that ain't me," Akinnuoye-Agbaje says of his character
Euphoria has come to an end, but the messages keep coming for Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
The series star, who marked his debut in season 3 as crime-loving cowboy Alamo Brown, caught up with PEOPLE at the 2026 Motion Picture and Television Fund NextGen Summer Party, where he shared that he's "surprisingly" gotten "a lot of marriage proposals" since the season debuted in April.
"I think it's a little disconcerting because I played a drug-dealing, sex-trafficking, murderous pimp and I'm just ... Different strokes. If you like that type of guy, then that's your thing, but that ain't me," Akinnuoye-Agbaje says.
"But no, I think the most endearing part of all of that is that the audience are engaged," he adds. "It's a wonderful audience, actually."

As Akinnuoye-Agbaje puts it, Euphoria fans "feel the characters are their own, and you're going to have a really nice banter" with them. "But people come up with some crazy things and marriage proposals have been one of them," he says.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje's Alamo plays a major role in Rue Bennett's (Zendaya) tragic fate in the series finale, which aired on Sunday, May 31. Series creator Sam Levinson confirmed the show's latest season would be its last in his Popcast interview on Monday, June 1, calling the conclusion "a tragic one in the end — but it's also the truth."
Before boarding Euphoria, Akinnuoye-Agbaje appeared as Mr. Eko in Lost, Simon Adebisi in Oz and starred in films including The Mummy Returns and 2016's Suicide Squad.
"It's over," Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!following Euphoria's conclusion. "It's an emotional thing for the actors and actresses that grew up on the show. They built it over so many years. So the audience, it's personal to them. They're feeling it."
He added, jokingly, "I'm just an actor, I was hired to do a part. And if you want to take it out on him, it's Sam Levinson."
All three seasons of Euphoria are available to stream on HBO Max.
