Chris Pratt improvised a nasty joke about Kim Kardashian during production of Parks and Recreation season 4.
The actor says that the gag came as part of an ad-libbing tradition that he nicknamed "Dark Parks."
Pratt asked showrunner Mike Schur, "Please don't put that on the DVD."
Chris Pratt didn't want you to see his filthy Kim Kardashian joke from the Parks and Recreation blooper reel.
The Guardians of the Galaxy actor recalled making an X-rated joke about the All's Fair star during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, noting that it was part of a larger trend of Parks actors ad-libbing wild jokes that they never thought would see the light of day.
"So in Parks and Rec, we had this thing, kind of Dark Parks," Pratt said while promoting The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. "Which basically was when the whole cast thought, 'We're done, right? We can move on?' We started improvising jokes that most certainly would never make the broadcast, as sort of a way to signal, 'I think we're all comfortable moving on, you know?'"
Pratt said that once the cast moved into Dark Parks mode, he and his costars were "lobbying to get the best joke on the gag reel" that would be shown at the wrap party at the end of every season.

The joke in question came after Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) claimed that "Everyone loves a good comeback story," leading Andy Dwyer (Pratt) to offer Kardashian as an example in reference to her infamous sex tape.
Pratt noted that Kardashian's notoriety made him hesitant to allow the joke to be released publicly.

"I made a very off-color blue joke in this moment, and I even remember talking to [Parks showrunner] Mike Schur and saying, 'Listen, that's a— please don't put that on the DVD,'" he recalled. '"Because I think it'll go online, it'll probably have legs because it has a very famous person in it. A person who's more famous than our show.'"
Pratt said that Schur agreed with his instincts. "He was like, 'You know what? You're right, let's not put that in there,'" he remembered the producer saying.
However, the joke somehow made its way to the season 4 DVD anyway. "It was the first scene on the gag reel!" Pratt said.
